Non-Epistemic Function

A purpose a belief or attribution serves that has nothing to do with whether it's true. Funding structures, institutional self-image, hiring pipelines. From W18: wrong beliefs persist in proportion to how many non-epistemic functions they serve. W19 adds: wrong attributions persist for the same reason.
